The Critical Care & Advance ICU of KEMH looks after patients whose life is in danger: severe infections, breathing failure, heart attack, stroke, poisoning, accident injuries and patients after major surgery. The ICU is led by a doctor with MD (Anesthesia and Critical Care), and ICU specialist doctors are available 24 hours.
Every bed is monitored continuously. Ventilator support, BiPAP, CPAP and high-flow oxygen, central lines and emergency procedures are done inside the ICU, so the patient does not have to be shifted during the most critical hours.
